Alderman Court Case Processor

The Town of Laurel is accepting applications for the position of a Judicial Case Processor within Alderman Court #35.  This is an entry level position, consisting of Alderman Court case processing work learning the legal processes, procedures, applicable laws and ordinances and performing the full range of processing activities of limited complexity.  The Case Processor position requires familiarity with office processes, including filing, handling mail and directing/answering phone calls.  This position requires attention to detail, solid organization and multi-tasking abilities and will include review of legal documents and files for completeness, accuracy and compliance with applicable time limitations. The Case Processor responds to inquiries regarding court procedures, scheduling court appearances, and receives payments for fines, costs, and other assessments; prepares and issues a wide variety of court and legal documents; researches case files, records, databases and other sources of information to ensure accuracy of case data and resolve discrepancies; files pending and completed cases according to established guidelines; makes deposits and balances cash journal.  This position also requires the ability to communicate well and effectively both orally and in writing and to deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner.   The candidate must possess maturity, integrity, and willingness to learn. Public Works Maintenance Tech

The Town of Laurel is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Maintenance Technician; experience is preferred in water, sewer main repair, lawn maintenance, and the ability to do minor maintenance. Must possess the ability to lift at least 60 pounds, work in in climate weather, have a high school diploma, or GED, and have a valid driver’s license. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hour work week. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays when necessary. Position is required to obtain Delaware Water License within one year of hire. This position reports directly to the Public Works Superintendent. Salary DOQ, plus Town of Laurel benefit package. Wastewater Operator

The Town of Laurel is seeking to hire a Wastewater Operator.   The position requires the individual to perform daily wastewater test and perform operational changes when directed by the supervisor.  Perform daily checks of equipment and perform maintenance and repairs of the wastewater treatment facilities, as well as the wastewater lift stations.  This position requires a minimum of a Delaware Wastewater Level I license or higher.  Minimum of two years experience is preferred but not required.  Must be able to lift at least 60 pounds and work in in climate weather.  High School Diploma or equipment and possession of a valid driver’s license is required.  Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is a 40 hour work week.  Must be willing to work nights, weekends, be on call and holidays when necessary.  This position reports directly to the Wastewater Superintendent.
