Water Operator

The Town of Laurel is seeking to hire a Licensed Water Operator.   The position requires the individual to perform daily water test and perform operational changes when directed by the supervisor.  Perform daily checks of equipment and perform maintenance and repairs of the water treatment facilities, as well as the town wells.  This position requires a minimum of a current Delaware Water License or a license that can be reciprocated to a Delaware Water License.    Minimum of two years experience is preferred but not required.  Must be able to lift at least 60 pounds and work in all weather conditions.  High School Diploma or equivalent and possession of a valid driver’s license is required.  Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is a 40 hour work week.  Must be willing to work nights, weekends, be on call, and available for weekend on call rotation and holidays when necessary.   This position reports directly to the Water Superintendent.
