The Laurel Police Department is currently located within the Town Hall Building located at 205 Mechanic Street (the intersection of Poplar & Mechanic Streets). The department operates under the command of Police Chief Dan Wright. The department has a force of 18 sworn officers and 1 administrative assistant. Together we strive to provide high quality, professional, community oriented police services to our citizens.

Officer Complaint Procedures


IMPORTANT NOTICE The Laurel Police Department is dedicated to the following Core Values as it is related to the service we provide to our community. Honor, Integrity, Courage, Loyalty, Attitude, Discipline and Service. All of these value are necessary for our officers to perform their job duties satisfactorily. If you feel you have not received satisfactory service from our officers and you wish to file a formal complaint, Please follow these steps. • You can call and ask for the administrative assistant Mr. Carrier at 302-875-2244. Mr. Carrier will be able to provide you with all the information necessary to file an official complaint. You may elect to have the forms mailed to you or you can pick them up at the police department. • You can send an email to Chief Dan Wright at danny.wright@cj.state.de.us. To request the necessary paperwork for filing a complaint.
