The Laurel Police Department is currently located within the Town Hall Building located at the intersection of Poplar & Mechanic Streets. The department operates under the command of Police Chief Michael J. Wilson with daily operations being overseen by Operations Commander Capt. Ricky Richardson. The department has a force of 14 sworn officers and 1 administrative assistant. Together we strive to provide high quality, professional, community oriented police services to our citizens.

Bureau of Justice Assistance Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant.

The Town of Laurel Police Department is giving Public Notice that it intends to file an application for funding through
The Bureau of Justice Assistance Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant. The total eligible allocation that may be requested is $40,640. The purpose of the request for funding is to enhance law enforcement initiatives. This Total allocation is for a disparate group of Sussex County agencies, with recommended allocations of $19,743 to the City of Milford, $10,737, to the City of Seaford, $10,160 to the Town of Laurel.
