Non Certified Police Officer

The Laurel Police Department is currently hiring Non Certified Police Officers. The Laurel Police Department is a progressive community oriented Sussex County agency consisting of 18 sworn officers and one administrative assistant. We take pride in the fact that we service one of the busiest towns in the County and our officers are able to address a variety of complaints. Our Department is a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year department with 12 hour rotating shifts.

SPECIALIZED UNITS:
* K9 Unit
* School Resource Officer (SRO)
* Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU)

SALARIES AND BENEFITS:
* $43,200 Academy salary/$46,700
after Academy.
* 3% salary increase scheduled for
July 2019
* Take home patrol vehicle
* Weekly overtime allotment

REQUIREMENTS:
* Highschool Diploma or G.E.D.
* United States Citizen
* At least 20 1/2 Years of age
* Possess a valid Driver's License
* Successful completion of written
test, physical fitness test,
polygraph examination, criminal
background check, psychological
exam and Police Academy
